Her journey to the ocean wasn’t the obvious route. Isa first led a Dutch high ropes course and climbing forest, swinging through the treetops like a born adventurer. But it turns out trading branches for rigging is easier than it sounds: she soon found herself climbing masts instead of pines, joining tall ships as a rigger and crew member.
Her spark ignited the day she watched a lady captain steer a tall ship into her hometown harbour with effortless command. In that moment, Isa knew exactly where she wanted to be—and nothing was going to slow her down. Before she’d even finished school, she was already throwing herself into ocean crossings, watches at sea, and life on tall ships.
Now in Australia, Isa has set her course for BAREFOOT Charters, eager to learn the ropes of commercial charter boats and sharpen every skill she can. She’s happiest on anything that sails, a true master of lines, and she’ll share her passion with anyone who will listen—often with wild ocean hair flying and a smile as wide as the horizon.

Captain Dean Cropp, founder of Barefoot Charters, is a true ocean adventurer with a lifelong connection to the sea. Born into a maritime legacy as the son of renowned explorer and documentary filmmaker Ben Cropp, Dean grew up diving shipwrecks, exploring remote reefs, and learning the rhythms of the ocean from an early age. Today, he leads Barefoot Charters with decades of experience as a commercial diver, sailor, underwater cinematographer, and storyteller — bringing a depth of knowledge that makes every charter feel both safe and unforgettable.
Beyond running Barefoot Charters, Dean is known for his passion for exploration, filmmaking, and marine conservation. His work has taken him across Australia and the Pacific, developing custom underwater camera systems and filming wildlife in some of the world’s most remote waters. Guests who step aboard one of his vessels experience his warm, easygoing leadership style, along with his natural gift for sharing the magic of the ocean. Every charter reflects Dean’s belief that the sea is not just a place to visit — but a world to connect with.
