Yes Barefoot Blue looks like a fishing trawler, but it’s a great boat for a weather proof function. One indoor area, two outdoor covered areas and two outdoor uncovered areas. We had 40 and there was plenty of space, could have easily had more. The stairs between decks are narrow but even older guests were ok with it.
The quick trip to Athol / Mosman gave the tourists their Opera House photos, water very easy to swim in. You do need some upper body strength to get back into the boat as there is no ladder (but everybody was fine). Slide is great fun. Bonus you get picked up from Circular Quay so super easy.
It’s not a beauty of a boat, but you can decorate and byo drinks and food. The 2 person friendly team will cook the food for you. Suggest you byo all disposable plates, cutlery and cups as the items on deck are limited. BYO music to plug into their system.
Would recommend for a cost effective and fun option, as long as aesthetics are not your top item!

My friends and I hired the Barefoot Spirit last weekend for our combined 21st birthdays and it was absolutely amazing. The boat had heaps of space (we had 150 people) and even more importantly, the crew were incredibly kind and understanding. As the main coordinator of the event, I found myself stressed at times but the crew assured me that everything would be okay and to have fun and for that, I’m forever grateful which is what brings me here today. Thank you Captain Dean and crew for such a memorable evening! I absolutely recommend this ship and crew to everyone looking to celebrate on the water, will definitely be my first option in the future!

I’ve had the pleasure of having Captain Willo and Jess look after us last season and can’t speak highly enough about them both. Not only did they probably help us have the best day of the summer but also kept us super safe on what was a super enjoyable outing.
They are incredibly skilled but unbelievably fun, up for the laugh and will no doubt help you have an unbelievable day on the water !

The Crew were superb thank you Captain Dani and Deckie Sam. Made everything easy and pleasurable and even cooked our bbq. The boat itself was the perfect size for the party and there is no better place than Sydney harbour for an evening party. Lots of fun, music, food and drink was had by all…. Was part of a Barefoot Charters cruise for a staff party recently and would highly recommend for anyone planning a fun, laid back event. Boat was clean and spacious, and cruise went smoothly. Crew were excellent, especially Dean, who went the extra mile to find my phone after it fell into the harbour. Spent over 30 mins trying to find it and I’m so grateful!!!! Would highly recommend
